The UNV Nepal Country Office Team
The UNV Headquarters is based in Bonn (Germany), and Flavia Pansieri, is the present Executive Coordinator.
At a ground level, the UNV Country Office Team is the 'front-line' of UNV.
They are the main representation of the programme in the country.
The role of the UNV Country Office is multi-faceted. One of the key functions is to develop a network of relationships with government, UN agencies and non-governmental organizations - anywhere where volunteers are requested or placed.
In addition, the UNV COT works to develop new volunteer-based projects and - very importantly - to promote volunteerism liaising with volunteer sending agencies and relevant civil society institutions.
The administration of UNV posts is important to ensure that UNV volunteers efforts are maximized. In this respect, the UNV Country Office has a key role in the briefing and orientation of the new UNV volunteers as well as that of their supervisors.
Establishing a close relationship with the 'host organization' and the UNV supervisor is also particularly important, as is supporting and monitoring the UNV post development.
UNV Programme Officers and UNV Country Operations Assistants are the backbone of the UNV Country Office, which works within the UNDP CO, its Country Director being the head of the UNV programme in-country.
The UNV Country Office supports UNDP and other UN agencies' projects and programmes at country level.
